Keep your friends close–especially on Facebook

If you work in social media, and your Facebook “friends” are exposed to colleagues (some of whom you may not be aware are looking for new connections), you may want to consider protecting your Facebook friends list on occasion. But beware–with the new changes to Facebook, it is now a bit more complicated.  You can still do it, you just need to know how.

Here’s what to look for: In the upper right corner click on: Account Privacy Settings Right at the top, under the subheading of “Connecting on Facebook,” click “View Settings” The setting for “See your friend list” is about half way down. You can select one of Facebook’s defaults or click “Custom” to select specific people or friends’ lists to make this visible to or to hide your friends from. It’s that simple and easy.

I’ve needed to do this quite a bit lately for business here at The InterCon Group.  Hope this will help you manage your online connections a bit more effectively. Cheers!
