Stay organized online with HootSuite

If you love social media, then you’ll want to be sure to integrate HootSuite into your social media arsenal.  HootSuite is absolutely essential if you have multiple social media accounts, and lots of contacts and projects to track.  The beauty of HootSuite is that it allows you to update multiple social media profiles quickly and efficiently.  Currently, there is no limit on how many profiles you can manage on HootSuite.  However, not all social media accounts are partnered with Hootsuite. Below are the social media accounts HootSuite accepts:

Twitter
You may include more than one Twitter account listed

Facebook
Facebook Profile
Facebook Fan Page

LinkedIn
LinkedIn profiles can be updated, LinkedIn groups cannot

MySpace

Foursquare

Ping.fm – status, blogs and microblogs. This may be redundant.

WordPress – Blog posts

The best thing about Hootsuite is you can enter your status update, tweet, or post once across all of your multiple social media accounts and then you’re done!

Here’s a brief overview of how it works:

1. Write your message

2. Mark off the social media accounts you want to update

3. Your post will now automatically update your social media accounts without you having to post to each of them separately.

Just remember,  if you have your social media accounts linked to each other within each of the social media account preferences, check off the Twitter account and Facebook Fan Page only. You would do this to not duplicate the post/tweet/status update within those accounts.

To learn more about HootSuite and how to maximize your social media efforts, you can contact the Intercon Group’s new Director of Social Media, Susan Rawlings, by email at susan@intercongroup.com.  She can share ideas and insights about social media with you.  She’d love to hear from you.
